K9Nanni Training Services

Your dog is our passion! K9nanni’s main principle is about creating a balanced, healthy relationship between you and your bestie! Rather than just training your dog to perform obedience commands, we strive to understand their mindset, so we can shape it in such a way as to unleash their full potential. Energy is the universal language of the world, we all harness our own specific energy, dogs and people alike. It’s about harnessing your energy and using it to better communicate with your dog. The purpose of our training programs is to teach owners about leadership, not just to give their dogs confidence, but to give themselves confidence as well.

Single Training Sessions

  • These training sessions include one-on-one work with your dog and trainer at our facility. Owner will drop off their pup at our daycare school for a session. At the end of the session, trainer will discuss the progress and coach owner about continuance at home.

  • Custom training sessions to better help with in-home/per-location problems (park, neighborhood, backyard, etc.). In this private session, the trainer will assess dog’s behavior and will coach owner about proper management in certain scenarios/environments.

    This program is great for

    •Territorial Issues

    •Guarding

    •Leash Reactivity Issues

    •Confidence Building

    •In-home Boundaries + Manners

Our team base our estimates on your dog’s specific behavioral issues, energy level, age, and, most importantly, your individual capabilities and personality.

Board & Train Programs

Our Board and train programs are an intense 3-week or more (based on your dog’s needs) board and train that tailors for a STRONG FOUNDATION in obedience and social skills. Your dog will be paired with one of our K9nanni trainers during the whole duration; this will allow your dog to get one-on-one attention at all times. Our process focuses on three main stages:

Introduction/Trust Establishment Stage: This is the beginning stage where the trainer builds trust with your dog and learns about his/her personality. Just like humans, not every dog learns the same way; during this phase, the trainer will assess what way your dog learns best.

Educating Stage:  Teaching/construction of primary skills will be the main goal. Your dog will be taught a set of skills tailored to his/her needs.

Enforcement Stage: After your dog has learned his/her exercises, the trainer will now enforce the commands through practice. The trainer will work with your dog in different environments or create real-life scenarios to put your dog’s skills into practice!

Board and Train programs have private consultations with owners at the end of each week. Owners will be able to see the progress of their dog during these consultations, and, most importantly, they will learn how to continue training their dog at home. Training owners is as important if not more important than training the dog; after all, we want to ensure future success for you and your pup!

Transitional period: Upon returning home from board and train, your dog enters a transitional period. It's an important stage since now owners have to practice with their dogs at home. Following the first week of return, parents may need a follow-up consultation at their home or environment of choice. During this transitional period please call us with any questions you may have.

During our puppy enrichment program, your puppy lives in-home with a k9nanni trainer for a duration of 3 weeks or more (depending on your puppy needs). Trainer focuses on building confidence and social/obedience skills. Program is tailored for puppies 3-5 months of age; this is a critical age during your puppies development. This is the time your puppy starts to test their boundaries around their environment. Training is highly recommended during this stage of life if not done so already.

Testimonials on Training

  • "I brought Benji, my 1 year old labradoodle here for the 3 week boarding & training program. I called for an evaluation and met with Ashley and Linda. I expressed my concern with Benji, him acting in an aggressive manner. During the time there I did not feel rushed. They both took the time to answer my questions and discussed the best solution for Benji. I received a tour of the facility and loved seeing how happy the dogs were and how clean and spacious the facility was. After 3 weeks of training I am still at WOW with the turn around Benji has made. His trainer Bo (so grateful for him) kept me updated with Benjis progress and was sent pictures & videos during that time. I went for the mid evaluation and was able to train with Benji on the techniques he had learned. It’s been a week now since he has been home and I am so glad I made the decision with the training! We are now able to go on peaceful walks without Benji reacting an aggressive manner or have fear towards any other dogs/people. HUGE THANK YOUUUU! If you need training for your dog look no further, K9 Nanni will help! Thank you again Bo!"

  • "I have had an amazing experience with K9 Nanni! Both with boarding of my little puppy and with training. Ashley, Linda, and the entire K9 Nanni staff had been so nice and welcoming. The facility overall is super clean. All the workers know what they are doing AND love what they are doing! My dog came home being well trained and tired from playing all day rather than being stressed. That is what i feel is most important! The staff loves and cares for everyone’s pet like it’s their own pet! Once again, it is a great facility and I highly recommend them!"

  • "We came to k9 Nanni after our sour patch kid puppy Finn got kicked out of 2 other daycares! He loves to jump and plays a little too rough sometimes. Linda, Ashley and their team quite literally changed Finn’s life. He goes for daycare and sleep overs every week. He comes home happy and exhausted from running and playing. They also came to our home for a private session to work with Finn on his reactions to scary things. We can’t say enough good things about k9 Nanni and how grateful we are to have a safe and happy place for our fur baby to enjoy!"

  • "We recently completed an extensive training program for our dog Jack. We've been using K9Nanni for the past 3 years and they have become like family to us. We needed Jack to go through training again and Linda and Bo were amazing to work with. They were very transparent with us and letting us know how Jack was doing but better yet gave us the tools to be successful when Jack came home. I can't thank them enough - we love K9Nanni!"

  • "There are no words for Linda & Ashley. To say they saved my dog’s life is an understatement. At my wits end and ready to give up, I reached out to Linda (why I didn’t before who knows) Ashley and Linda not only trained my puppy, but trained me too! My puppy is a different dog entirely and everyone notices it. Without Linda & Ashley I may have given up, but with their constant reinforcement and reassurances I know we are good. I now have to the tools necessary to reinforce what Linda & Ashley taught my pup. I can’t thank them enough."

  • "Service: Board & Train. We went in quite worried that it would be difficult to resolve some of the leash aggression & issues we had with Sophie (Goldendoodle puppy) excitedly lunging at friends and strangers. Sophie is a very friendly puppy, but given her size going above 60lbs, we needed to resolve it asap. Review: To summarize: The results were unbelievable - we couldn't be more thankful to Linda! Linda and all the staff at K9 Nanni were phenomenal in how they took care and trained our Sophie. Linda treated us and Sophie like family. Over the two weeks at K9 Nanni, she kept us up to date via videos and even invited us half way through invited us out to go through some of the progress. Linda listed to our concerns and really worked hard with Sophie. It's been two weeks now since Sophie has returned home, and we still cannot believe how well she is behaving. SOme of the highlights: 1. She's amazing with people, young and old alike. She sits gracefully while people pet her. She even plays fetch with our two year old nephew! 2. Her walking is focused and listens to commands right away, even when around other dogs. This was the biggest change in behavior for Sophie. Simply amazing! 3. Her recall at dog parks was non existent before, now (with some additional tips from Linda afterwards) is perfect. 4. At home we can comfortably have people over while Sophie sits in "place", where previously when she got over excited she had to be crated and whined a lot. Thanks Linda & Team, we look forward to spending more time with your K9 Nanni family through the daycare and boarding services"

  • "Service: Board & Train. We have a 2-year Golden Retriever that has a unique fear of garage doors. He would not walk past the doors at all making living in Hoboken extremely difficult. After trying several different trainers and techniques, we decided to check out K9Nanni after reading all the positive reviews. Ashley gave us a tour and we knew immediately that she would be able to help us. We decided to go with the 15-day board & train and we were not disappointed. Ashley worked with our dog everyday sending frequent updates and constant communication. The progress we saw happening within the span of a few days was truly unbelievable. We once believed that E collar training does not work for anxious dogs. Not only has it worked for our dog but it has completely helped him transform into the happy carefree dog that he should be. Once the board and train was over, Ashley continued to come to our house, sometimes even twice a day, to help him transition back home in Hoboken. We are so impressed by the experience we had at K9nanni. Not only is their facility gorgeous and clean but never once did we question our dogs safety. We couldn’t be more thankful for what Ashley helped us achieve with our dog. This place is 100% worth every penny. We will continue to send our dog back for daycare and boarding because he loves it so much. Thanks K9Nanni!"

  • K9 Nanni has been wonderful for us! We originally were looking for a place to socialize our pup that also had boarding for when we might need it. We found that and more with K9Nanni. Our pup Quincy was having issues with impulse control and not listening in general, pulling on walks and eating everything off the street. Linda assessed the situation and we agreed on the board and train program using an ecollar. He came home a much calmer puppy. We are thrilled with the results. He now stays in his place, walks without pulling/eating everything, and listens so much better. It’s been 3 weeks since he came home. Every day we work on his skills and every day he’s getting better. We loved working with Linda. The team at K9 that picks up/ drops off Quincy and watches him at daycare is great. The exercise and socialization he gets there makes him a happy dog. The facility is spacious and clean. We recommend their services highly.

  • "K9 Nanni is a family to me and I’m so thankful for everyone on the team and how incredible they are for my two doodles. There is so much to say but to sum it up, my two absolutely love going there and are sad during the days they don’t get to go. It goes to show what an amazing environment they created at K9 Nanni. If you don’t take my word for it, just take a look at Mia and Brody… (I really wanted to upload the video but this screenshot from the video will have to do.) Thank you to the entire K9 Nanni family. [side note, I sent the little guy to the board and train for about 2.5 weeks with Ashley and she was AMAZING. He’s come back a completely different puppy in the most incredible way. It. Is. Worth. Every. Penny!!!]"

  • "Ashley trained our pup Milo for 2.5 weeks and did an amazing job. She was incredibly welcoming, a great teacher for both Milo and us when we picked him up, and an all around caring human. You can tell how much she loves her job and how serious she takes it while still having so much fun and creating a great bond with the dogs. She constantly sent training videos, pictures, and plenty of updates to ensure we were comfortable (this was the longest we’ve ever been away from him). If you ever need a training service we HIGHLY recommend Ashley!!! In general, K9 NANNI is a great place for day care - Milo has a blast and you can watch them throughout the day when the cameras are on at the designated times. It’s very close to Hoboken/JC & if you don’t have a car, they will come pick up your pup and drop it off at your place! Can’t recommend them enough!!"

  • "I had a vacation planned and was looking for a place to board my dog Jo, but I was worried because she is a bit rambunctious and I didn't feel comfortable leaving her with just anyone. I wanted to do so at a facility that offered training, too. After combing through reviews for several different board and train options in and around Jersey City, I decided to go with K9 Nanni and I'm so happy that I did! My girl was anxious around other dogs, and while she knew her basic commands, she was stubborn and selective with when she'd follow them. Linda and Ashley at K9 Nanni took time to explain their process to me and were communicative the whole way through. Jo stayed with them for two weeks and Ashley worked day in and day out to make sure Jo was getting the most out of her time there. She texted me with constant updates and videos showing Jo's progress, and when I went to pick her up at the end of her stay, she worked with me to teach me how to maintain Jo's new routine. She even offered to keep in touch should I have any questions or anything come up. I'm so appreciative to K9 Nanni for helping my girl fine-tune her skills, and look forward to boarding Jo there again any time I go on vacation!!"

  • "I highly recommend Linda and the K9 Nanni team to all pet parents. My corgi Mickey has been there for play dates and boarding, and he absolutely loves it. He comes home happy and tried every time. He is hence more calm and not at all destructive because he gets all the socialization and exercise he needs at k9 Nanni. Mickey also just came back from Linda's board and train program for his severe resource guarding issues. My finance and I were both bitten (yes blood) several times to a point there was no trust. Mickey didn't trust us enough to not guard and we didn't trust him to not bite and be his pack leaders. As a result, regardless of what we tried, Mickey was relapsing constantly. He was outright aggressive when there's food, water, even snow. Anything he valued. Linda took Mickey for two weeks, and Mickey really had come a long way. Linda sent videos of Mickey's progress frequently and was always available via text. After week one when we visited Mickey at K9 Nanni, he was letting us touch his food. Linda also came to our place after Mickey's training to make sure we had everything we need and were prepared to work with Mickey from there on. This is probably the best investment we made for Mickey. If ever you are in doubt and think your dog is just "untrainable", reach out to Linda!!!!!"
